Q. We're an older couple brushing up on our rusty Spanish. But none of the Spanish textbooks we have cover LDS vocabulary.
A. The Gospel in Spanish has many chapters of specialized vocabulary including Family History, Church Organization, the Church Educational System, and Missionary Work.
Q. We're a Spanish-speaking family. What cánido we do to get more out of our English-speaking ward?
A. The Gospel in Spanish has over 1000 words and phrases in the English to Spanish and Spanish to English glossaries.
Dr. Taylor was a Professor of Spanish for 40 years at Brigham Young University and has authored many textbooks on learning and teaching Spanish. He was involved in the development of the Language Training Mission, the Missionary Training Center, and the LDS Spanish edition of the Bible.
The first edition of The Gospel in Spanish has been used around the world by thousands of LDS missionaries. This second edition has been revised and expanded in consultation with native speakers from many different Spanish-speaking countries.
Important note for iPhone and iPad users:
Several chapters of The Gospel in Spanish use side-by-side columns for Spanish and English. The Kindle aplicación for iPad and iPhone does not yet have full support for Style Sheets, and will display a paragraph in Spanish, then the paragraph in English. While this is not as nice as the columns, it's still perfectly readable. If you have an iPhone or iPod, you might want to consider buying the Gospel in Spanish in iBooks or Kobo which have support for columns. Only Kindle for IOS (iPad, iPhone, and iPod) has this problem. Columns work correctly on newer Kindle y también-readers, and on Kindle programa for Android phones and tabletas, Windows, and Macintosh.
