Effect of high volume recycled lime on cement matrix composed by fly ash and portlan cement

In this book has been studied the synergy between Portland cement and two types of industrial waste: fly ash and lime (calcium hydroxide) generated as residue in the production of acetylene. This lime is a new building material called “Geosilex” with a high CO2 absorbing capacity. Trenza Metal company and the University of Granada has the patent of this material.
An en fase de prueba study was carried out in order to evaluate a chemical characterization and compressive strength of the proposed Portland cement matrix composed by fly ash (FA), Geosilex (GS) and Portland cement (PC). PC has been replaced with fly ash and lime at 20, 30, 40 y 70% and the proportion between FA and GS is varied.
The results espectáculo that CSH gel, ettringite and portlandite are hydration products presented in this Portland cement matrix, which are afín to a ordinary Portland cement
